There are many disciplines of jewelry creation, having 30 plus years of experience designing and creating jewelry of every kind imaginable, I have mastered most, leaving a couple to professionals in their narrow field of expertise such as enameling and some hand engraving.
To begin a project I first must get an idea of the customers taste, expectations and budget and if the client is looking for a centered stone or has it already.
If you’re shopping for a diamond or a colored gem, I have established many contacts to shop the market all over the world.
Being familiar with diamond and gem cutting and setting, having personally set thousands of stones I can make judgments and choices an average retail jeweler or sales associate cannot. As far as price I am able to compete with anyone.
I try to keep my life as uncomplicated as possible not wanting at this time to be tied to a storefront location and expenses.
After the initial contact we set up an appointment that is convenient to both parties. I meet with clients at restaurants or at their residence or offices at the Chicago jeweler’s row located down town around Madison and Wabash.
It is not unusual for me to have a sales associate with me at our meeting and I may have the associate return your call and set up and appointment. We will have a catalog of pictures from various designers of rings, earrings and necklaces to help me understand the styles that you prefer, and then we can begin on your personal, one of a kind project.
I thank you for your interest and look forward to your call or email.
Very truly yours
Simon Zelikman
